We’ve added a new feature on the Unity OnDemand homepage where you can now see real-time cluster status updates, including:
- Nodes available and % used
- Processors available and % used
- GPUs available and % used
- Jobs running
- Jobs queued
This is a great way to stay informed about cluster activity – we encourage you to check it out!
📩 The University of Rhode Island’s AI Lab: Fall 2025 Workshops
The University of Rhode Island’s Artificial Intelligence (URI AI) Lab invites the Unity community to attend their Fall 2025 workshops. The URI AI Lab is dedicated to interdisciplinary research and learning in the context of use-inspired AI. The Lab runs workshops on common AI tools and offers consultancy for research and educational projects. Visit our News page to see the full schedule and click the Zoom links to register in advance.
🗓️ Introduction to Bioinformatics on Unity: URI AI Lab Workshop Series
As part of the URI AI Lab’s Fall 2025 Workshops, Unity facilitator Cecile Cres will host an Introduction to Bioinformatics on Unity Workshop series from Sep 22 through Nov 10, 2025, at 12:30 - 1:30 PM. See details and register in advance on the Event page.
🚀 Don’t miss the NEW Workshop presented by the URI AI Lab: MPI in Rust
Rust has earned a reputation for high performance, productivity, and correctness, making it one of the most loved programming languages. In this interactive session hosted by URI’s Associate Professor Noah Daniels, you’ll get:
- A brief introduction to Rust basics
- Parallel computing with the Rayon library
- Multi-node distributed computing via an OpenMPI-compatible library

💼 WE’RE HIRING: Undergraduate Technical Writing Intern
Unity is looking for an undergraduate student to join our team as a Technical Writer & Documentation Specialist. The ideal candidate has experience writing for both technical and non-technical audiences. Familiarity with Unity is a plus, but not required.
